Books I want to read soon…

This month’s TBR is already set in stone, but I have added three other books to this month already.  In total, I will hopefully read 12 books this month.  *Phew*

Next month I’m hoping to read some of these (and whatever books I didn’t get to this month):

Witch’s Brew by Heidi R Kling

Once soulmates, the witch and warlock covens of the California coast have been estranged for a century. Raised to hate each other, their teenagers meet in the Solstice Stones, a magical battleground where they draw energy from each other to maintain their balance. 16-year-olds Logan and Lily have spent years training for their first Stones…only to discover just days before that the enemy may not be what either of them had thought.
In Witch’s Brew, Lily is torn between her feelings for Logan and her coven’s need to know who—or what—he is. The young lovers’ race against time, their distrust for each other, and the powerful influence of their elders to unravel the mystery of their pasts before their future is destroyed.
In Witch’s Brew, Lily and Logan’s fate is already decided, but Heidi explores several different possible pathways for how they get there. She shares scenes that wouldn’t normally fit in a book format and gives readers more precious moments between the two young lovers. As the series progresses, you’ll see some normal narrative forms, interspersed with smaller scenes, alternate points of view, and a lot of “what if” scenarios.

Queen of Someday by Sherry D Ficken

Before she can become the greatest empress in history, fifteen-year-old Sophie will have to survive her social-climbing mother’s quest to put her on the throne of Russia—at any cost.
Imperial Court holds dangers like nothing Sophie has ever faced before. In the heart of St. Petersburg, surviving means navigating the political, romantic, and religious demands of the bitter Empress Elizabeth and her handsome, but the sadistic nephew, Peter. Determined to save her impoverished family—and herself—Sophie vows to do whatever is necessary to thrive in her new surroundings. But an attempt on her life and an unexpected attraction threatens to derail her plans.
Alone in a new and dangerous world, learning who to trust and who to charm may mean the difference between becoming queen and being sent home in shame to marry her lecherous uncle. With traitors and murderers lurking around every corner, her very life hangs in the balance. Betrothed to one man but falling in love with another, Sophie will need to decide how much she’s willing to sacrifice in order to become the empress she is destined to be.
In a battle for the soul of a nation, will love or destiny reign supreme?

The Goddess Legacy by M.W. Muse

For millennia we’ve caught only glimpses of the lives and loves of the gods and goddesses on Olympus. Now Aimée Carter pulls back the curtain on how they became the powerful, petty, loving and dangerous immortals that Kate Winters knows.
Calliope/Hera represented constancy and yet had a husband who never matched her faithfulness….
Ava/Aphrodite was the goddess of love and yet commitment was a totally different deal….
Persephone was urged to marry one man, yet longed for another….
James/Hermes loved to make trouble for others – but never knew true loss before….
Henry/Hades’s solitary existence had grown too wearisome to continue. But meeting Kate Winters gave him a new hope….

Eighteen-year-old Taylor knows two things for sure: ONE: She’s dead. TWO: Heaven looks like a run-down version of the Las Vegas Strip. The more she discovers about a heaven full of teens like her, the more mysterious it becomes—especially when her afterlife coach turns out to be her tyrannical fifth-grade teacher.
Plagued by questions her whole life, Taylor finds Heaven prompts even more. Why can’t she remember her death? Why isn’t Heaven the idyllic place she thought it would be? When she dares to ask, her teacher tells Taylor to keep her mouth shut. Everyone knows Heaven is perfect. That’s a lie. What are they trying to hide? Taylor desperately wants to flee this strange place and return to her old life. She’s shocked to find out there’s a possibility her dream can come true. But that chance depends on passing a series of tests in the Afterlife for Idiots Handbook and winning the Cloud Nine Contest. If she fails, will her teacher follow through on her threat and turn Taylor into pond scum?
Taylor tries to solve the mysteries of Heaven as it slowly crumbles around her. While competing in the contest, she learns there are dark forces at work behind the celestial show…and they are after her. This leads to the biggest question of all: Is she the only one who can stop them?

Hiding her powers was never a problem for seventeen-year-old Graylee Perez. Not until her diabolical twin sister decided to go on a rampage that could expose them all o
r get someone hurt.

To add to the aggravation, the coven rejects Raj McKenna catches Gray performing a complex spell and is convinced they would make a powerful couple. He can delude himself all he wants. Gray has sworn off dating warlocks, especially delinquents who play with fire.

But even Gray’s mysterious death won’t deter Raj, not after Gray is brought back from the great beyond. Only she’s not truly back. Her body’s still six feet under and she’s on borrowed time. There are forces threatening Gray’s existence and a powerful wizard willing to help . . . for a price. Gray doesn’t know who to trust or how long she has left before she vanishes for good, but she’s determined to stick around no matter what the cost.

Of course, there are a lot more books on my bookshelf that I really want to read, but before I know how many books I didn’t get to this month, I cannot add any more books to this list.  A full TBR list will be posted when October starts, so let’s see what happens.

Love Always,
C

P.S.  Let me know if you want to read any of these books?

Creativity is my passion, and I have been told that my soul is old, and my body young... Dunno if that is true, but... Anyhoe, gonna start with book reviews, and hauls of the new books I acquire. Maybe if I am better with this blogging thing, I'll expand...

  1. Ok…all of these are going on my TBR!
Have you read The Goddess Test by Aimee Carter yet? I would read that before The Goddess Legacy: that book is a supplement to the series. You’ll want to read that first. It’s awesome and one of my faves in mythology. I think you’ll like it. But if you haven’t read it yet, I would wait on The Goddess Legacy. Just my opinion. I haven’t read it yet, but I read the series, and it would be nice to know more about the characters before they mix together. It’s a background book.
