Rules:

  • Write a post to show your award.
  • Give a brief story of how your blog started.
  • Give two pieces of advice for new bloggers.
  • Thank whoever nominated you and provide a link to their blog.
  • Select 15 other blogs you want to give the award to.

How my blog started…

Let me start by stating that I have wanted to start a book reviewing blog for years now.  Each time I got close, but then I talk myself out of it, thinking I won’t have enough time or content to successfully start a blog.  And I also thought that followers meant a lot more than I do now.  I realized that the followers mean nothing now that I blog about what I love and are passionate about.

My love for books isn’t really something my friends and family love too.  My mom ignited my love for books, but I am the only one reading English books in my family.

I wanted a platform where I can rant and rave about books as I read them, where I can yell at books or cry about books, and where I can find others with the same love for books.

I was also extremely impressed by the support I receive from other bloggers and readers of my blog.  This is not something I expected, but now I cannot wait to read, review and support other bloggers daily…

My advice for new bloggers…

  • If you love something and want to – just start.

This is obviously easier said than done.  I procrastinated for so long before I took the plunge.  When you are busy with your first post, there are butterflies in your stomach and the anticipation for whether others would love or hate your ideas is overwhelming.  But just breathe through it and publish that first post.

  • Remember to be yourself.

Your voice is different and unique, so do not be a copy of someone else.  Create ideas that interest you and make each post your own.  Odds are that someone will love what you do because it mirrors their inner voice – the readers want someone they can relate to and be friends with.

I’m not going to nominate other bloggers at this stage, most have done this already.  Please comment if you have any questions, and send me a link to yours if you have received this award and done this post.

Love Always,
C

Creativity is my passion, and I have been told that my soul is old, and my body young... Dunno if that is true, but... Anyhoe, gonna start with book reviews, and hauls of the new books I acquire. Maybe if I am better with this blogging thing, I'll expand...

  1. I loved reading the story behind why you started your blog, and it’s great you finally got around to starting one as well! It can be scary to take that plunge and start putting your thoughts and reviews out there for everyone to read and comment on but talking with all the other people on WordPress is one of the best things about having a blog in my opinion!
Also great advice as well, and definitely two that could apply to new and old bloggers as well. It’s really important to post what you want and what you enjoy, if not eventually you’ll get tired of blogging for other people you know?
